Let's go through a guided simulation for each of the question types. Click the link below. Start with MCQ, then True/False, Essay, and finally, Fill in the Blank. When you have completed all of the guided simulations, move on to Step 3 of this module.

Step 3: Assignment

Assignment #2.1

Follow the steps below to complete this assignment. The assignment will be completed on the ExamSoft web portal. When you have finished, please type "COMPLETED" in the text submission box for this assignment. The instructor will check the ExamSoft system to ensure the tasks were completed. Please post any questions and/or concerns to the Discussion Board.

  1. Log in to the ExamSoft web portal
  2. Create a Multiple-choice question (MCQ). Title the question as follows (Question1-YourLastName). Place the question in the ES101 folder.
  3. Create a True/False question. Title the question as follows (Question2-YourLastName). Place the question in the ES101 folder.
  4. Create an Essay question. Title the question as follows (Question3-YourLastName). Place the question in the ES101 folder.

Step 2: Simulation

Let's go through a guided simulation on importing question files. Click the link below. This training will focus on RTF file import. You can learn Tab-Delimited file import in the future if necessary. When you have completed the guided simulation, move on to Step 3 of this module.

Step 3: Assignment

Follow the steps below to complete this assignment. The assignment will be completed on the ExamSoft web portal. When you have finished, please type "COMPLETED" in the text submission box for this assignment. The instructor will check the ExamSoft system to ensure the task was completed. Please post any questions and/or concerns to the Discussion Board.

  1. Save the attached RTF file with your last name to your computer (already formatted); "Save Link As"
  2. DO NOT OPEN THE RTF FILE. If you do, trash it and download it again and DO NOT OPEN IT.
  3. Log in to the ExamSoft web portal
  4. In the Questions tab, select Import Questions
  5. Find the RTF Import section and GO DIRECTLY to "Choose File." Do NOT click "Select Folder" (ask me why)
  6. Find the RTF file you saved in #1 above and click "Next"
  7. The screen should show the number of successfully uploaded questions in green and errors in red.
  8. Import valid questions
  9. Check the ES101 folder in the Questions tab to see if the 5 questions you imported appear in the list. They will have your last name in the question title
