Categories

ExamSoft can provide you with analytic reports based on student performance that enables you to provide data-driven feedback at the course or program level in addition to the critical feedback provided to students to encourage continued engagement and support remediation efforts.  All you need to do is create categories that label or tag questions with learning outcomes.  These categories help faculty show direct evidence of student learning, quickly build exam blueprints, and generate comprehensive reports demonstrating progress overtime.

Creating a Category Structure

ExamSoft recommends creating categories structured around four specific areas.  Three of these areas will be focused on the learning outcomes for your courses and programs.  The last area will help to create a better workflow for the stakeholders interested in reviewing progress overtime and filtering questions or results based on people or tasks.

1. First, identify the learning outcomes for internal, external, and cognitive processes.
2. Second, review your institutions workflow to create categories that will make review easier.
3. Last, identify at least one or two sub categories for each main category.
