Why is SofTest v12 being rolled back?
Over the past week we have experienced a number of service interruptions, related specifically to v12, that crossed our threshold of comfort for your students’ testing experience. Out of an abundance of caution, we felt it necessary to roll back to v11 temporarily while we spend some time adjusting and improving the v12 platform. SofTest v11 is the platform that all clients have used to deliver their exams for the last several years.
If we choose to, can we continue to use SofTest v12?
Not at this time. We will be blocking registrations, downloads, and uploads on SofTest v12 starting on Sunday, August 21st. Students will need to download and install SofTest v11 to take their upcoming exams.
Where can I download SofTest v11?
You can download the most recent version of SofTest v11 here:
My students can currently download SofTest v12 from the ExamSoft Portal. Will this be reverted to SofTest v11 as well?Yes, we will be updating all portal installers to SofTest v11. This change will take place on Sunday, August 21st.
Will our program lose any student information or data due to this rollback? No. All data from previous SofTest v12 uploads will remain in the portal.
I have already configured my lab environments with SofTest v12. Do I need to reconfigure with SofTest v11? Yes, you will need to reconfigure your lab environments by installing and using SofTest v11 if you had previously installed v12. To do so, please follow the instructions found here. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to your Customer Success Specialist.
If my students already downloaded exams on SofTest v12, what should they do?
We recommend that you repost your assessments with a new password. Students can then install SofTest v11, download the new posting, and open it with the new password. We encourage you to not share the password for the original posting with your students to ensure exam integrity.
If I have already created and posted an exam and students have not yet downloaded it, do I need to create a new exam?
If students have not yet downloaded an exam, creating a new exam is not necessary—the original posting can be downloaded with SofTest v11.
Should my students uninstall SofTest v12?
Yes, we recommend having students uninstall SofTest v12.
When will v12 be ready to use again?
We have a number of near term releases already scheduled for v12, which address the aforementioned service interruptions, as well as a number of other improvements and enhancements. In the coming weeks, we will announce an updated plan for the release of v12.
Will you be notifying my students directly about this update?
No, we will not be contacting your students directly. We encourage you to share this information with your students. We have created an email template (see below) to simplify this process for you.
If I have questions that are specific to my program or any feedback regarding our usage of SofTest v12, who should I reach out to?
