Examplify: Known Issues

This is a list of known issues affecting the most recent version of Examplify, as well as possible workarounds. If you need assistance with any of these issues or you encounter any other issues, please contact our support team. The below-listed issues are expected to be resolved in upcoming releases of Examplify.

Issue

Description

Spell check is not working consistently on Mac

Students on  Mac may notice that spellcheck is not consistently identifying misspelled words.  We have identified that this is related to a language setting for spell check within Apple. To improve the functionality of spell check, follow the instructions found here to set your Spell Check language to the language you will most commonly be typing in.  

Deleted Date on portal not updating

When using Remote Exam Deletion, the portal is not updating the Deleted date when an exam is deleted from Examplify on Windows.

Delay when starting exam

Students may notice that the process of securing the device takes a little longer than expected.

Timer appearing to skip seconds

In some scenarios, the timer on the exam may appear to skip seconds. Note that this is due to lag and the student is not losing any time on the exam.

Assessment OS column not updating

The assessment OS column may be blank for users who were previously using 0.9.2 or 0.9.3 before upgrading to 1.0.0. To resolve this issue, clear registration and re-register Examplify.

Ability to exceed character limit

Students can exceed the character limit on an essay question using spellcheck or various formatting options. Note that they can only exceed the character limit by a few characters.

Font size changes may be lost during navigation

In some cases, font size changes is not retained when navigating between questions.

Large Video may not play on Windows

Video attachments at sizes of 150 mb or larger may not play on some Windows machines

Mac upgrade does not automatically run installer

Upgrade downloads appropriately, however, user must select to run the .dmg file to complete the upgrade.

Upgrade from 0.9.2 or 0.9.3 may happen silently on Mac

Users on Mac may receive the update silently without the upgrade prompt asking them to proceed. This will not happen with Windows users.

Exam History button does not work with SAML

Users who authenticate with SAML will be unable to use the Exam History button within Examplify.

Delayed Secure Exam Review showing questions in order student saw the exam

On a randomized exam, DSER should show the questions in the order that the exam was created in. However, Examplify is showing each student the questions in the order they took the exam in.

LDAP and Lab Configuration Problem

Clients using LDAP and Labs must set up their labs to "not remember the institution", otherwise they may be unable to log in to Examplify with their LDAP credentials. For more details on this configuration, please review our Lab Setup Guide.

 

Examplify for iPad

 

Current Examplify for iPad Version: 2.0.0

Issue

Description

During review, question filter from exam is retained

If a student has their questions filtered at the end of the exam, that filter is retained when they enter the review which may prevent the user from seeing all questions during the review.

SAML Login with Exam Manager Account is not working

When attempting to login to Examplify for iPad with a faculty or administrator account using a SAML login, it is not allowing you to log in. This will restrict admins from being able to preview exams within Examplify for iPad.
